New Ford Escape Performance and Efficiency
The Ford Escape Base, Active, and ST-Line come standard with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop technology to add to its fuel efficiency. It gets paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission to provide up to 180 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. You can choose the standard front-wheel drive model or the optional Intelligent all-wheel drive option. With four-wheel drive, you can get up to 34 miles per gallon on the highway and 27 miles per gallon in the city.
There's also an optional two-liter EcoBoost engine that provides an impressive 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This turbocharged engine can get up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway and 23 miles per gallon in the city. The Ford Escape Hybrid and Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid models are outfitted with a 2.5-liter iVCT Atkinson Cycle I4 engine. The Ford Escape Hybrid achieves a combined 192 horsepower; the Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid provides 210 horsepower and up to 155 pound-feet of torque. The Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid can get up to 101 miles per gallon equivalent. The Ford Escape Hybrid can get up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway and up to 42 miles per gallon in the city. When properly equipped, the Ford Escape can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
